The question, I would think, is really whether he and Obama held any discussions about the senate seat.

One interesting remark in the complaint had to do with the Governor saying something like "does he [obama] think I'm just going to GIVE it [the seat] to him"?

It leads to the question of whether there had been some discussion about it. I suspect if there had Fitzpatrick would have been all over it, so I doubt anything else will be made of it.

It is definitely the wrong foot to be having to start off his presidency on. Let's hope this doesn't turn into another scandal-clad Clintonseque presidency.

You don't have to imagine.

,i>I can't imagine there is much of a connection....ILL is a big state and Chicago a big town. While Obama was in the ILL state senate, Blagojevich was in Congress. And when Blagojevich became governor, Obama went to the US Senate.

Obama and Rahm Emanuel met weekly with Blagojevich's to discuss his campaign in 2002. Emanuel was rewarded by getting Blagojevich's House seat. Obama suported Blagojevich in 2006 after the Justice Department announced they were investigating him.
