Yes, I've watched them in action at Obama rallies. They are impressive. I recently watched a documentary about Bush going to Africa. The advance teams involved hundreds of personnel, doing everything from measuring the airport runways to marking off precise landing spots. They think of everything. One interesting thing I had never known is that for a trip like that BOTH of the "Air Force One" jets make the trip. You never see the second one, but it is there somewhere. That's in addition to cargo planes carrying everything from metal detectors to bomb-sniffing dogs and the limos for the motorcade. If I had to take all that crap with me I'd never leave the house.
