I was in St. Thomas on the Northeast side. Mahogany Golf course is in the pasture where we walked the neighbor kids for a hike and cows were all around. There was Peace Camp in the valley below and my house was on a Bluff overlooking 180 Degree View of the ocean...

Magens Bay was the closest well known beach. We used to call the road coming up to Bali Hai a resort whose owner sold me the land I constructed on Ovary Bender. So you can see there were not very many amenities...

I went back there a few years ago while on a cruise and it was totally changed. There used to be one or two cruise ships a week in town. WE stayed out of town then. One could park a car on the street in town and not lock the door. I would not live there now.

We fished a lot and I brought all the fish home for our neighbor who lived in a shack with ten roof and never wore shoes. His family ate the fish head, eyes and all.

Those were good days.. In the sixties..Boy you got me reminiscing about a great time in my life..

When I read Bill write about sitting with the door open and the weather it reminds me of how we lived in the out of doors. There were arches in the rear of the house. No way to lock it up. Fresh air all the time.
