Probably more of typical GM quality versus ascribing it to it being an EV. The Toyota Prius has been rated a top quality car, even when compared to non-hybrid ICEs. Shows you quality is more a factor of the car company you are dealing with.

Maintenance costs and frequency will be lower on average for an EV vs a comparable ICE. But the cost of the battery pack will outweigh that advantage until economies of scale are reached. That is unless some company comes up with an innovative business scheme that makes the cost of the battery irrelevant. Better Place comes to mind.
