I get tired of listening to the same two people echo Microsoft's B.S. after I have just spent 12 to 16 hours having to cope with Microsoft's COM technology. The simple fact is my posts contain information about products, services and management issues and I don't appreciate that being turned into a personal issue.

Don't worry Neil. He really can't help it, and I have pretty thick skin. Every other post from Rod is an unsolicited attack on COM/ActiveX (I can picture him foaming at the mouth as he types). Periodically, I chose to respond to give a little balance. Not that I consider COM steller technology, but it works, and COM is the only real component technology that is widely deployed that this time.

We are working on a serious product that is built largely on COM. We have several major companies that are likely to chose us as a technology partner, and are about to nail down a $50M/year opportunity.

Rod can mouth all he wants. Few successful products are built on bleeding edge technology. Today, COM is a good model for componenet based SW development.
