Do the markets really need to "bet" against every type of investment vehicle offered by a broker?

Do people "need" to hedge every type of bond or transaction available?

At what point is this just the brokers "talking out of both sides of their mouths", selling the bonds and then selling the CDS's? At what point does the issue of a lack of liquidity in these investment vehicles start to shout this isn't necessary?

I think the investment industry is crossing lines that don't need to be crossed.
