Lisa Madigan has the right idea to appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court. I didn't know, but checked and she is a Democrat.

She said yesterday she didn't want the Senate seat, she wanted to be governor.

If he doesn't resign I wonder what they can do really. He's only been charged with crimes. I would think there's some due process required to remove him from office kicking and screaming.
