McCain only lost by 6 points in a year where he should have lost by 20.

So...it's a bit early to write off the Republicans.

When Hoover lost to FDR in 1932 the country had already been in a downturn for 3 years. In this election the country had only been in a downturn for about 12 months.

If the country hasn't turned the corner by August of 2010 you can expect the Republicans to gain in both the House and the Senate.

If the country isn't really picking up speed by August 2012 then Obama may be a ONE term President.

The Democrats have to start acting like GROWNUPS if they want to change the political spectrum in the country.

I think those senators are just representing the majority opinion in the South. Used to be "Last night I spent the night in Detroit city...", but now that they've got Honda, BMW, Mercedes, the shoe is on our foot. Civil War is still going on.
