Japan Inc. was being bailed out by 0% interest rates for 20 years before their economy imploded. The degree of government involvement with rice burner builders since day one makes them effectively fully integreatd arms of the Japanese government and the Yakuza since day one. If Mitsubishi, Honda, NTT, Sony, Nissan and Toyota failed we would have to evacuate the Islands. Profits are not that robust. Toyota made less profit than the CDN division of Xstrata in 2005.
