"Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?" Powell asked. "Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?"

Where has he been? That's the party they are and have been for years. They offer nothing but cynical, irrational, divisive rhetoric. No solutions to anything...health care? every man for himself. Environment? can't have environmental protections co-exist with business. Social issues? no choices...just the conservative hawkish red-neck path....and so on. It IS the party of the human lesser instincts.

Al

The Republican party must stop "shouting at the world" and start listening to minority groups if it is to win elections in the 21st century, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Thursday.

Hear! Hear!

The man hasn't gotten a voice.....finally!
