Mexico is already hurting from our recession. Some friends of mine just returned froma cruise of Central America and Mexico....................they saw armed commandos everywhere they went. At one port they were welcomed by a helicopter with a machine gun hanging out the side. One of the group's excursion was to explore some Mayan ruins..............they finished late so they were escorted through some villages by armed gunmen on jeeps............the Americans were huddled in the center and surrounded by men who were behind machine guns that were pointed at the people by the roads. They told me it was the cruise from hell ( glad I wasn't with them ). Because of the worsening economy, drug traffic and trade has increased hugely.........and kidnappings are rising.
