I agree with that too. The sentiment here on this thread has changed considerably in the past few weeks as the current facts have at least partially replaced perceptions people have held for decades. A few weeks ago many people here did not understood the ramifications of the loan failing, and were strongly against the loans. People thought it was company specific problems with poor quality vehicles instead of the collapse of the credit markets. At this point most people here understand what is going on, and realize why it's important to give the automakers a chance to complete their restructuring.

There are still misperceptions about the unions but that is at least partially their fault for not educating people.
