Assuming one wants to protect against the market going down further what is the best way to protect? What options would be the best to buy puts on? Is there anything representing the TSE 300?

I agree with the know your client - however!

Although it is noble to state "I'm against this because its not right" the realities speak for themselves, until everyone agree's to abide by fair trading practices - ha good luck, the abuse will continue. The same thing happened in the equity market as I noted earlier and no amount of - lets be fair guys worked, hence the abolition of the client priority rule.
