"You got any evidence that it has "never been"?" Well, I will point out that the wingnuts have always dominated talk radio, even in the days when the doctrine was in force. And they never were muzzled or required to endanger their audience with contrasting viewpoints. "Pelosi and Reid and many other (not all) liberals." All of the information I've tracked down indicates that some have made statements along the lines of "it would be nice to have something like the Fairness doctrine". When questioned, all have denied that they would support legislation.
