>>> I doubt this very much.

If you doubt this, you do not know much about the people who founded this country and drafted the Declaration and the Constitution.

Can you imagine, in your wildest dreams, Hamilton, Madison or Jay (let alone Adams or Franklin) suggesting that newspapers were "REQUIRED" to publish both sides or all sides of an issue? No way in hell that might have happened. It would have been anathema to them -- to ALL of them.

The Declaration of Independence would not have occurred -- certainly when it did -- but the publication of Common Sense. Do you think any of the founders of this nation would have supported a requirement that a different viewpoint be published by a given printer if he wanted to print this pamphlet or that? Of course not. It is silly to even think of it.

And before you get off on the bandwidth and 'people's airwaves' nonsense, let's just stay reasonable about it. That isn't what is at issue here. There is a TON of unused bandwidth on the AM band, where Rush is. The simple truth is that these people (Reid, Pelosi, et.al.) want to force Air America down the throats of people who don't want it.

"I know this because I've spent enough time reading the writings of these people to have a pretty good sense of their positions on such matters."

I doubt this very much.

Yes, I would agree with you. It sounds like one of his stories.
