Did you know that they got the Democrats to give up CAFE increases and lowered emissions as part of their demands? It gets even better than that........they got the union to agree to having the senators from Toyota, Nissan et al negotiate the wages and benefits of the UAW workers separately from the rest of the participants [auto makers, suppliers, lenders, etc] in the restructuring to be done in January. After all that, the senators from Toyota came up with a reason not to go along with the package. I firmly believe in karma and this less than satisfactory behavior will come back to kick them in their collective butts. The very idea that they would put this country in jeopardy because of their ridiculous and failed ideology makes me want to kick some butt as well. In the last days of the GOP, they have become the party of Hoover. BTW the senator from Michigan said she has been amazed at how cooperative the UAW has been during these negotiations......which makes clear that everything the GOP has said about the UAW is pure bull.
