OT: Same here. Not using anti-seize on the plug threads is just asking for trouble, especially since they now last 100K miles or more.

Realistically though, if you own a "disposable" car or don't take good care of it then one change is all you'll ever need.

The 300SD (turbo) got about 31 mpg highway.

The E300 (non-turbo) 24 valve six cylinder got 34 mpg all day on the highway with the AC working pretty hard. Amazing range. I drove from Machias, Maine (almost Canada right on Route 1) to the Delaware Memorial Bridge at the bottom of the NJ Turnpike on one tank. I stopped there to refuel because that is the last stop for really cheap fuel. I could have made Baltimore easily for about 750 miles on that tank. Range doesn't mean all that much - just put in a bigger tank. Its still nice.
