Third, Emanuel is right next to Obama. As his Chief of Staff, nobody is closer. He was involved in a couple of hours of conversation with Blago about the Senate seat that Fitz has on tape. If it sounds as bad as it probably does, how much of it was Obama aware of? This goes right to the top.

Fourth, even if he's innocent of the crime, he doesn't know what Fitzgerald knows. He might commit perjury like Scooter Libbey did, esp. if he tries to protect Obama.

"How much did Obama know, and when did he know it?"

If Obama didn't know exactly what Rahm discussed with Rod, there is something wrong with him. Goes to show he is utterly lacking in management ability.

Of course, this is just another refrain in the same old song he's been singing throughout his political career. The one he uses to pretend unawareness of the unsavory aspects of his various benefactors.

"I never heard Wright say that."
"Ayers was just some guy in the neighborhood."
"He's not the person I knew."
"I misspoke."
"He misspoke"

yadda yadda yadda

It's gonna be a long four years on the Double-Talk Express.
