Joe,

First of all, eq just plain lied about me "spamming" David's FINE summary of the outstanding Niall Ferguson Moneytalk interview "all over the net."

However, since the subject has been brought up. I will say that I only posted David's wonderful summary TWO places: At MY blog and at another discussion group where I am one of the owners -- along with Jeffchristie (Sir Pig is manager).

Now last I checked, "owners" have every right to post whatever they want at their own sites.

OTOH, eq has every right to stay away from those two sites, and I would be most pleased if he would do just that!

BTW: David's summary contains 3223 words. He misspelled ONE WORD. How much time did it take eq to search through those 3223 words to find one misspelled word? Sick? I think so....

.

That's because "assent" is a word. That doesn't mean it was used correctly. Since I don't know the book or the title or the summary in question, I can only suggest that perhaps she/he meant to use the word "ascent", meaning upward movement. The word "assent" means to agree or concur. Therefore, "The Ascent of Money" makes more grammatic sense.
