Makes sense... tail wags the dog; and at least for SKF, proshares stated that there might be substantial (market-driven) deviations to the NAV. So it clearly becomes a sentiment indicator and no more an instrument.

Unfortunately I found no easy way to arb it. Last I did was in October when it traded about 20 points off the S&P level.. but that was in the aftermath of lehman and no arbs around.
