I guess I don't understand Nadine. Why is it appropriate for a small business to go bankrupt and abandon its obligations to its retired pensioners, but not GM or Chrysler?

They are all creditors of the company to be paid from the assets and reorg. Heck - they may own half the company - they always wanted to be boss.
