How about defeating Hitler and the Japanese empire? How about writing and adopting the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Also Great. I said "one of the greatest..." How about the Emancipation Proclamation? Also great. But the fact that we were among the last of the slave trading nations to free our slaves and that we fought a bloody civil war in large part over the issue while other nations gave up slavery peacefully is not to our credit. It's a shame. How about freeing 50M Muslims from tyranny after 911 instead of nuking Mecca? Invading Iraq is one of our greatest foreign policy blunders, not something to be proud of in my opinion. SD
