Wow, that Dreier story is a nightmare. I can't imagine being "partner" to anyone in any business without full access to the books. The last place I worked tried to pull that and is the reason I/we left.

That really is a crazy story. What did the guy need the money for? He sounds like he was crazy. He was impersonating people he just met to sell bogus securities. In this case, people should have done their DD before they handed over so much money to the guy.
