Looks like the Great Lakes could just be made into the nation's windfarm and not bother anybody much at all while using zero land.

Other than that, it looks like the richest wind areas are our mountain ranges. Not good farmland, that. I know some spots in the Rockies where the wind will literally knock you down due to being channeled by the mountians, almost all the time. Great spots for a windmill.
