We had a ~$50 million Ponzi scheme here in Alaska back in the 90s. The trustee filed 618 lawsuits to recover money from investors, so that it could be redistributed more fairly. It took 12 years to clean up the mess, and the lawyers made $5 million in the process. Cleaning up the Madoff bombshell looks like it will be vastly more complicated. I wonder if politicians like Schumer who got contributions from Madoff can be compelled to give them back to the trustee?

P.S. I have nothing new on the dastardly Palin church arson. Anything that comes out is quickly picked up by the national media.
