Yea, if that person is committing a fraud on me. That is a legitimate activity of government.
If you tell me you are going to invest my money in equities and instead you invest it in your personal yacht you bet I want the government involved.

Rush, made a good point. This Ponzi scheme is small potatoes. The world's largest Ponzi scheme is Social Security, and eventually ALL Ponzi schemes fail.
