"geeper you think the reply "lighten up" implies it was all tongue and cheek." Yes. As I said previously, I thought it was obvious from the start and didn't need to be qualified as humor with one of those silly little <g>s that do more to annoy me than make me laugh. The 'lighten up' comment confirmed it for me. "it seems more to say "shut up and let me go on making stupid generalzations". The view of a gem is different depending on the perspective of the viewer. Partly because we see it in a slightly different light or with differences in vision ability, and partly because we are carrying some preconceived notion of its quality, value, beauty.
