The companies are still not viable carrying the debt loads that they have currently.

(Need to wipe out the stock --- it's 99% wiped out already, and hand over ownership to the debt holders, the retirees and Unions and pension plans mostly... and slash the debt load by half or more by forcing debt holders to accept equity in a new restructured company.)

Anything short of that is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
