guns kill. Really? Can you find even one story about a gun killing anyone? Most people are able to understand that people kill people and they they have a wide range of choices of weapons to use. A gun is only one.

Good people get licenced to use guns to provide security and protection for their homes, to defend themselves from attacks, to hunt game to feed their families. Good people have used guns to overthrow brutal tyrannies, to gain freedom from oppressors and to fight for the liberty of others in foreign lands. Bad people who don't follow the existing laws, use guns unlawfully to achieve evil means. A new gun law wont change that, but it might take guns away from good people who could have defended themselves from the bad ones. They have found that out in other countries where good people were banned from gun ownership.
