Places all around us have snow, but so far, we have missed it...Many schools closed. I have a Doc appointment, and have to drive...taking boots and a cane just in case.... Have you ever tried an old Sunset recipe that makes a 30 minute soup using hamburger? It used to be a staple for me when the kids were in school....They could ALWAYS have something hot and weren't so impatient for dinner... Cook the hamburger, add onions and celery, (and I add barley here) Brown....then add a can or two of stewed tomatoes, W Sauce, 1 pk of onion soup mix, and whatever other raw veggies you wish (carrots for sure, maybe beans, peas) Add a can or two of beef broth, cook for 30 minutes... Great flavor combo.... Microwave hadn't been invented in those years....
