Multiple gossan and massive sulphide intervals were intersected including, 12.4 metres at 1.5% copper, 1.4% lead, 0.8% zinc, 62 g/t silver and 1.6g/t gold. At Ceovishte EurOmax has completed a detailed mapping and soil geochemistry program which has defined a 5 kilometer long zone of ancient workings within strongly altered andesite. The drilling during 2008 was conducted at the very northern end of this trend. Late in the year, with the completion of the 2008 drilling program it became apparent that the main center of mineralisation was at the southern end of this trend. Here EurOmax has mapped an altered diorite intrusion more than 1 kilometer across. Strongly mineralised silica breccia is developed around the intrusion reaching a maximum width of nearly a kilometer. Ancient gold workings likely dating from Roman times cover approximately 2 square kilometers of the silica breccia along the southern and northern flanks of the diorite intrusion. Menzies Chairman and CEO, commented "while the drilling in the northern part of this 5 kilometer trend of ancient workings has produced multiple intercepts of encouraging grade, the 2 square kilometer silica breccia in the Pope area is very extensive, strongly mineralised and is covered in extensive gold workings likely dating from Roman times. At Ceovishte we have an entire volcanic centre which is largely unexplored." Routine assays are undertaken at Eurotest AD laboratory in Sofia, Bulgaria, an ISO9001 accredited facility. Quality control samples, standards and blanks, are routinely submitted. Gold is assayed by a 50 gram fire assay with an AAS finish while copper is assayed by acid digest-ICPMS.
