Have you seen those ads for "peticures"? It's a device for cutting doggie toenails by gently shaving off layers. I've seen TV ads and also a print ad from Bed Bath and Beyond.

Ours despise having their nails cut. When they see the clipper they lie on their paws :) We only do several at a time and yes, we too, have helped them track blood. By the time we are 'just right' they try to move their paws away...
Sigh...
