His argument is that customers didn't trust AMD until they'd had a year or so to test production systems, and by that logic, Intel should face the same hurdle. I think this one's easily debatable, but I haven't seen anyone try to argue in the way I think it should be argued.

I don't think it's worth the trouble arguing at all. It won't make it true, it won't stop the red ink and it won't save AMD any market share. Big OEMs have had Nehalem for nearly a year now and they know the performance. One person pouting on a message board can't hold back the tide.
