I think we WERE and apparently Paulson and Bernanke thought so too.

I am not totally convinced but my gut instinct is that you are correct. As interconnected as the global banking system is we could have brought the world banking system to its knees.

Yes really.

"Total" as in "100 percent" (but I'm not quibbling over the last percent if it was 90% and you called it a total collapse I wouldn't object)
