AVNT. Asian Mrkt. You're right that it's down because of the Asian markets. Everything else is down as well. These are good days to go short illiquid highly volatile stocks at the open and then cover before the mutual funds go shopping. AVNT gaps down on retail panic/shorting at the open/market maker long 5000 shares and dumps his position.

>>>Avant! seems to be down sharply on Hong Kong market crash. Their Asian markets
might suffer along with those of the capital equipment makers.
<<<

Avanti is down about 1/2 a point in the aftermath of HK index
drop. That is about 1.5% from the closing price of 30 1/4 yesterday.
It doesn't seem that drastic to me unless I am looking at the wrong
quote. Comparitively, CDN is down 1 5/16 or about 2.6% relative
to yesterday's closing price. This says to me that all is well
in the EDA world. There is nothing to worry about. Life is good.

HK is one of the main echonomic indicator of the Asian-Pacific region. But it certainly is not a consumer of EDA tools. The
main Asian EDA market's are Japan, Korea, Taiwan, singapore and
too alesser extent China. While other region posted a single
digit drop, Taiwan market is up, bucking the trend.

If AVNT's share is down sharply due to Asian market down
turn, you'll see not only EDA, but the rest of the US tech market
be dragged down as well.

BTW, why is CDN's P/E ratio at 102?
