I disagree. Bush leaves Obama in better shape than Clinton left Bush, if you're considering the things a president has purview over.

Bush inherited an untenable situation in the Middle East from Clinton solely because of Clinton's incompetence.

Most people who understand anything about economics recognize that Bush had nothing to do with getting us into this economic situation. OTOH, history may well determine that some aggressive actions prevented it from getting worse than it would have. This, we can't yet know.

Knowledgeable people don't agree with the premise that Bush inherited a great situation and Obama is inheriting a basket case. You agree, instead, with the vast majority of Americans, whom we know are pretty much idiots on the issues.

Clinton, rather than dealing with Iraq and AQ, kicked them down the road with disasterous results. Bush dealt with them. Both. Made Iraq into a democracy, decimated AQ.
