"they sent the Business majors over to the natural science department to take Calculus".

Are they nuts, stupid or suicidal ?

It should be other way around.

When I was a ugrad, my fellows in the engineering school who couldn't cut it all "flunked into" the business school.

When I was in engineering grad school, one of my buddies told me how he almost flunked an Econ 101 test. They were asked to find the area under a curve. He used calculus/integration. The professor was expecting the answer via the trapezoidal approximation. My friend was off in the second decimal so the prof took off credit. He went back to the prof, explained his action and got credit restored.
