It became clear to me in 1998 that being a high-skilled R&D engineer was an incredibly difficult way to build a good nest egg. Since then I've been running 2 careers, the day job with the nice salary and an intensive study of financial markets.

At this point, the second career has clearly been more lucrative than the first. Although some nice stock options in 1995 did give me the initial trading capital.
