"Spokesman Yassin Majid says that in a letter sent Thursday to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki the journalist described his behavior as "an ugly act" and asked to be pardoned.

Sure let's forgive him in the spirit of the holiday season but under these conditions, where I would see him as a genuine and humble hero.

I would pardon him, if he agrees to go on Al Jezeera, CNN, and Fox News to be interviewed, provided those interviews prove that he is truly remorseful and a spokesperson for respect and decency, with a sincere and specific apology to Bush and American included. If not, let him rot in prison.

Forgiveness is easy when it is deserved.
