We were on our kids all the time about proper grammar. The one that bugged me the most was "Bill and me" and "you don't have no" this or that.

They speak really well now, and are actually proud of their ability to communicate. gg

Another thing I'm hearing a lot of on TV these days, during interviews. The respondent will begin with "I mean, blah blah..", or the alternative beginning is "ummmmm... blah, blah". I hear the "I mean" opening on programs like O'Reilly, Hannity, Greta when they are questioning their guest.

I may just be too sensitive to this stuff. I spent a career in face to face sales, dealing with corporate presidents and very educated people. Early in my career, I called on college and university head Deans for some 3 years, all over the south. I became incredibly aware of proper grammar and speech. I tried to pass this along to my kids. But, I still hear my son say "Me and Tomi". sigh....
