Bush and his "people" are idiots, and they haven't thought this through. We are going to exit Iraq. For him to "think history will vindicate him and put his decisions in a positive light" can only happen if the United States becomes a second or third or lower rate nation, and then "history" "could" look back and say Bush43 might have been right. The best he can "hope" for for his reputation is that the United States spirals downward, doesn't recover, and a plurality of historians conclude he might have been on to something.
