A measly 1000 IU of vit D took out the trash pretty much.

I don't know what vitamins do what. And neither does the Medical industry. Yet. They seem to test them at low doses. They just completed a C & E test that said both were worthless as supplements. Maybe they are. But they tested the C at 200mg. Obviously too low. Could be the same with E. Or it could be they don't help. We don't know.

Another good example is Vitamin B-1. Known as "Niacin." It is a great help to heart cases, but little prescribed today because the Drug cos have pushed the Statins so hard. You don't get any therapeutic effect from it until you get up to 1500 to 3000 mgs range. But I am sure if it's value wasn't known they would do a test at 500 Mg's and tell you it doesn't work.

Vitamin D is really a hormone. It's value is just starting to be appreciated. And you can bet they will be knocking it. I don't know exactly where the therapeutic level of it is, but I do know that I started off taking 8000IU, got my blood level tested, found I was up to 80, and dropped it to 6000IU.

The level I took it at and the blood level I achieved is responsible for my reduction in CAD. I have no doubt it's the chief reason. Doesn't mean the weight loss, other supplements, etc, weren't needed. But it's was the key.

One of the beauties of D is that you can find out if it is working for you by checking your blood level. Some people can raise their level to 80 with 4000IU. Others require 12000IU.

I won't accept a "it didn't work" unless I know the blood level achieved and how long they kept it there. I have had mine there for over a year.
