I have been trying to spend a gold coin for 4 or five years now. Until a year ago people just said no without even looking at it.
Now they want to examine it and give me $50 dollars-ng-

If it comes to mad max guns are much better then G&S.
Some how i do not want to eat dehydrated & canned food for my golden years. I got dogs for that-g-

Knighty, so you are basically saying there is no way protect oneself, fiscally, anyway, once our currency goers Zimbabwe?

just pay off the house, get a few sawed off shotguns, lots of ammo and hunker down with minimal expenses.

say one could pay their house off two ways... sell property that's currently depreciating but will inflate when the dollar goes Zimbabwe or liquidate my IRA, which is mostly cash and whose value could eventually go to zero...

the 10% marginal tax hit is big, but 10% of something of value vs 0% of virtually nothing... the winner is clear.

what to do?
