One of the news programs here did a feature on a group of people who go to the Dallas airport to welcome troops as they disembark from the planes. They line the aisle and applaud as the men and women file past them, shake their hands, give them hugs and thank them for their service. The looks on their faces were just priceless, knowing that there were people who appreciated what they were doing. That's where I got the idea to go out of my way every chance I get. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone stopped and thanked the troops every chance they got?

I was talking to my daughter over the Thanksgiving holiday and she reminded me of the times her dad would go and pick up a couple of soldiers from Camp Pendleton and bring them back to the house for Thanksgiving dinner. They wore their uniforms. She laughed about it saying how big and intimidating they looked.
