I'm sure Barney, being a famous out gay, would be mobbed at a gay bar. Personals let him hook up with a person that just wants an anonymous hole. So, Barney knows the guy just wants a hole, and isn't a groupie or a predator. That's what I resent about gays. Wanna get laid? Horny? Go to a gay bar and "hook up", maybe even several times, that very night. It seems for gays, just about any hole is OK. But us poor heteros have to apply, scheme, grovel, lay out the bucks, get to at least the third date, sometimes only to come up with bupkas.
