In any event, I think this is tantamount to the devil-made-me-do-it theory: "Sure, I lied about my income on my application, then bought 7 houses against an income of $12,000, borrowed against them for vacation money, flipped two of them for $200,000 profit........but I couldn't help it! Bush had put so much freaking money there that I couldn't even keep track of it." I suppose that I hate Bush with as much passion as most of the rest of the world but let's face it - Bush's home ownership agenda was largely pushed on him by the Democratic Black Caucus. They looked at home ownership demographics in the mid- and late-] 90s and screamed racism, demanding a bigger piece of the pie. Bubba Clinton was only too happy to oblige, and of course Shrub went along. Republican efforts to get a handle on the situation by reigning in Frannie were quickly rebuffed by...the Black Caucus ("they're trying to lynch another black man", cried Maxine Waters). This stuff is readily retrievable on YouTube. When the foreclosures began, they looked at the demographics and again screamed....yep, racism. And then everybody piled on to the pathetic carcass we call Dubya.it would be hard not to blame that clown enough, imho. You mean "It would be hard to blame that clown enough", don't you? C'mon Bug, that's your second botch - if we can't trust you not to bowith a simple syntactical construct, how can we believe anything you write? :^) On a serious note, why don't you tell us, very specifically, how Shrub contributed to the housing bubble. Keep in mind that Bush is no more an economist than Obama is...they both rely on their cabinet members and congressional chairmen for key input and recommendations.
