skeeter,

>my issue with you isn't that typical liberalism isn't a failure, it is. just like communism. my issue is you think the right is, well, right. both sides have some issues on their side, but NEITHER SIDE will ever be reasonable to those issues as they are the sales pitch and feathering their own nest at the tax payer expense is the product.<

We differ slightly. I DO think "the right" is right. I just think that republicans (especially the ones at the top of the party now) do not govern from the right. They govern from the center/left and left. They virtually never cut spending, reduce government, reduce government's role etc... They expand programs and government in different ways etc... Just look at all their positions on the meltdown. It's all about bailouts and inflation.

Even on the war issue, where the democrats swung back and forth wherever the political winds blew ("for" it when it was popular and "against" it when things started going bad), true conservatives would have been totally opposed to the actions of these republicans right from the start.

So it's unfair to criticize republicans and say "the right" screwed up when they govern like a different form of democrat. The libertarian right has no real power and very little representation. Once you get past Ron Paul, there's very little voice and power.
