neolib, interesting indeed! not to mention much of this nation's productive capacity has been gutted.

i heard one prognosticator list lack of productive capacity as a reason why this down turn will be worse than the great depression. i'm not sure his conclusion is necessarily right, but he's dead on about the perils of reduced productive capacity.
