skeeter, >FF, Reagan put greenspan in charge of the nation's finances because the right wanted his libertarian approach.< The Federal Reserve and libertarian are polar opposites. You can't have a Federal Reserve and have free markets at the same time by definition. On the rest of stuff I agree with you and said so. On their best day, the republicans are just socialist light. That's why IMHO all criticism of the republicans as being part of the "right" is bogus. That's like saying Hitler was less evil than Satan. The left has been winning for decades, but in very slow increments (including the last few weeks). THis is exactly what Ludwig von Mises predicted would happen.
