You were in Lubeck to escape the high taxes since Danish government live off taxes consumption. Germany cleverly, tax less because they produce stuff.
Germans when they hear that the VW Golf sold by Germany to Denmark is sold cheap, to allow it to be affordable by the Danish consumer, because Denmark charges high taxes in cars. They see them subsidizing the Danish treasury.

Here is a bunch of boats on the high tide. Europe is a bunch of boats on low tide. Thus the whole Europe intratrade will drop.

Northern Europe is going to hold much better than the rest. Swedes are very inner directed and a bit minimalists. Have gone through their own crisis and came out. Norway has oil and has managed their money well.

Denmark, as many Europeans countries- are niche players. They specialize in niches and that is enough to keep a good standard of living even on severe down turns.

High standard of education is very helpful too. That because the government can present numbers and articulate the crisis and their citizens can grasp and be directed.

Southern Europe will fast return to their natural size as the rest of Europe leave them on their own.
